Missy Shelby is a darling 10 year old DobeGirl living with DobeMom Brenda and the family pack of 8 “brothers and sisters” (not all of them Dobes - just wannabees :)). Shelby is a "give-up" from a family that truly loved her, but because of her "breed" they were unable to keep her in their neighborhood. Brenda has had Missy Shelby since she was less than a year old. She was first diagnosed with heart problems last June and has done extremely well on basic heart meds -- until one recent morning. Having experienced "the cardio cough" several times, Brenda knew that she needed to get to the vet QUICKLY! Starting out with the local vets, then finding that the situation warranted moving on to cardiology specialist. With no appointment, Shelby waited until they were free to do an in-depth review of Shelby's condition and prescribe the proper meds to stabilize her arrythmia and remove the fluid that was building in her lungs. Even with the enlarged heart and irregular heart beats Shelby’s prognosis is excellent with the proper medication and careful monitoring. Brenda has requested help with the costs of the exam, x-rays, EKG, ultrasound, and bloodwork. Let's help Shelby's DobeMom keep her DobeGirl as healthy and stable as possible!
