Savior has saved Cindy's heart from breaking more than once. Cindy, a well known
rescuer and volunteer for Dobermans in Ohio, discovered her boy in a shelter
a day after losing her beloved Kato. Savior somehow knew he was meant for this
lady. After her visit, and some nerve-racking waiting, she was told she could
adopt him. Three and a half years later, Savior is still mending Cindy's heart...
she just lost her another of her Dobes three weeks ago.
During his routine check up recently, Cindy pointed out to her vet that Savior's
leg would occasionally swell for no apparent reason. After some extensive testing
she received some staggering news -- Savior has myeloma, or bone marrow cancer.
This horrific disease in one form or another has taken all of Cindy's Dobes,
and she is determined to get Savior the best veterinary science has to offer
to help him beat this terrible diagnosis. Cindy is no stranger to Dobermans
or Rescue - she was instrumental in reforming many of her local Humane Society's
rules for rescue and adoption and is one of the founders of Teddy's House, a
shelter named in honor of a Dobe wrongly euthanized.
Fortunately, Savior's diagnosis was discovered early. He is without symptoms
and he is presently undergoing oral chemotherapy. He has regularly scheduled
blood draws to check the progress of the drugs and monitor his organ function.
Cindy has joined us on the Cafe to compare notes and garner moral support for
this dear boy, and she has much knowledge and experience to offer all who love
Dobes... but Cindy needs financial help, desperately, to afford continuing
care for her Savior. She is taking a second mortgage on her home, she has maxed
out credit cards and she has come to us for assistance. Won't you please help
us help this wonderful lady and her beloved Savior? There are many rescued Dobes
