Sweet Laurel, what a face, huh? Even with her 'lacework' ears, she's a real cutie. North Coast Doberman Rescue's Teka says she has really blossomed with a little care and love. She's actually quite a character -- and feisty too! In spite of the canine abuse, she gets along well with other dogs. Dobermans are so amazingly forgiving! She's wonderfully happy living in a house, with a couch and her very own blanky to suck on. She's going to make a wonderful and talented companion for some lucky person.
Before that rosy picture can happen, she needs to be healthy. Her heartworm load is extremely high. In fact, as you read this she'll be going in for her 2nd treatment, so please hold her in your thoughts. She's very good about taking her meds -- in cheese, of course -- so her bacteria levels are starting to fall. She wants to follow Teka everywhere but gets winded very quickly. Her lung infections seem to be much better, but with heartworm and other infections, she hasn't recovered as quickly as she might have otherwise. However, given her strong will and desire to live, love and be happy, I think she'll make it! But she needs your help.
