Dixie!

I would like to introduce Dixie, a beautiful black and tan 7 year old female who means the world to her family. When I asked her owner Jason to describe Dixie to me, his response after a long pause was that mere words could not describe her and could not do her justice. Unlike many Dobies that come to SND for help Dixie has had a great life right from the start and if she could speak she would have nothing but positive things to say about her life so far. Dixie has been the perfect Dobie for Jason, loyal, and loving, a snuggle buddy when he’s sad, a bed hog on the long winter nights, the weekend football companion that routes for his team, and sometimes she even shares the sofa with him! Dixie has been a part of every aspect of Jason’s life. She allowed him to get married and to even get her a little brother Dobie. Things were going great for Dixie until this last month. Results from her bloodwork during her yearly exam came back showing she had Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. This usually would not be a problem, but Jason and his wife just had a baby girl. All of their savings have gone to getting Dixie the required testing to confirm the diagnosis and towards their new child who was born on the 8th of February 2008. She gives so much love to her family, they could not imagine being without her. Dixie’s family loves her equally in return and have asked for SND’s assistance so that Dixie can receive her required medical treatment and continue to be a special member of this loving family.
