Meet Miss Bernice!!

California Dreamin'... of a better life!!

I wish I could tell you my story and the details of my run in... my leg speaks for itself!
My run in with my DobeAngel is all I care about now!!

The meaning of the name Bernice is "Brings Victory," and just the fact that Bernice was able to avoid being euthanized in a Los Angeles shelter might be considered a victory of sorts. After what was apparently an unfortunate encounter with a moving vehicle, Bernice sat in the shelter for days, her wounded hind leg becoming more painful and infected with each hour that passed. One of the wounds actually went all the way down to the bone in her foot. Scared and in a lot of pain, dear Bernice had little hope of getting adopted in her condition.

Dobe Rescue-Angel and Good Samaritan Robert saw past all the dirt and infected lacerations. Just one look at this sweet, beautiful girl, and Robert knew he had to try to save her. Since his own home was filled with Dobes to the legal limit, and since Bernice clearly needed medical attention, Robert entrusted Bernice’s care to a local rescue-friendly vet. It was initially feared that Bernice would lose the damaged leg. After ten days of aggressive treatment, Bernice appears to be on the mend. Robert has already invested over $1,100 in this precious girl, despite knowing he can’t keep her. And Bernice still needs further treatment, possibly for several more weeks, if she is ever to make a full recovery. Once she is healthy she will be seeking a Forever Family with the help of Robert's Friends in Rescue!

Please help SND help Robert complete his mission to save this brave Dobe-girl who has stolen his heart by sending in a tax-deductible donation online by using the PayPal button below, or by mailing one in. No donation is too small…it all adds up! Thank you for any help you are able to give to this most deserving Dobe-girlie. And, thank you for your continued support!

Help Bernice!
